The ASD smoke suction system consists of two main parts: The suction ducting system with many small apertures and the evaluation unit. This contains one or two sensitive smoke detectors, a fan and the electronic evaluation unit. A fan specially developed for ASD aspirates the ambient air through the suction ducts into the detection chamber and passes it to the smoke detector. Smoke particles are identified immediately. If an alarm threshold is exceeded, a central fire alarm is activated automatically. There are many possibilities for increasing flexibility and security still further.
